Location of the Brake Controller Port for 2004 Ford Explorer with Tow Package

Question:

I CANNOT FIND WHERE THE PLUG IN IS UNDER THE DASH. IT STATES IN LINE WITH BRAKE PEDAL, BUT I CANNOT FIND AN EMPTY PORT. THE VECH WAS PURCHASED USED WITH A TOW PACKAGE. I HAVE CRAWLED ALL UP UNDER THE DASH AND CANNOT FIND A SPOT TO PLUG INTO!! HELP.

Expert Reply:

On a 2004 Explorer with the newer body, the port is behind the glove box on the left side. You will open the glove box, push in the two tabs it rests on to get it to open further and the connector is buried on the left hand side, close to the center console.

The port is located above the pedals for F-150/Expedition or larger Ford Trucks and SUVs.
