Question:
My trailer axle stubs protrude quite a bit from the wheel hubs. I need to know how deep is the part number BC-190? I would like to use this product if it is deep enough to cover my axle stub/nut and still press into the hub. I look forward to your answer.

Expert Reply:
Bearing protectors, such as the Trailer Hub Bearing Protectors 1.980 with Cover, part # BC-190, you were looking at, are specifically matched to the hub the bearings are in. The bearings are matched to your spindle and hub. If your outer bearing is L44643, L44649, or L44640, then the, part # BC-190, will fit your application. The inside depth of the bearing protector is 1-3/16 inch and the installation depth is 5/16 inch so you have 7/8 inch clearance past the face of the hub when the bearing protector is installed.
