There are a couple options for your 2002 Acura MDX. I will walk you through them.

The strongest and most versatile method is to use a hitch and hitch-mounted bike rack. One of the most popular hitches for your vehicle is part # 75599. This installs underneath your rear bumper. Then you would pick a bike rack to fit a 2 inch hitch.

We have bike racks that will hold 2 to 5 bikes, like these popular models; the 4 bike rack part # TH956 or a lighter 2 bike rack like part # 59400. I have included videos of both of these back racks being reviewed. This is the most versatile option because with a hitch you have the option of towing, or using a cargo carrier on road trips like part # 63153.

We do have hatch or trunk mounted bike racks available like part # TH911XT. I prefer the hitch system over trunk mounts for several reasons. Trunk mounts are more complicated to set up and they do not allow the versatility of having a trailer hitch.
