Using Adapter DTADP35 With a 2-1/2 Inch Hitch

Question:

i have a dt-albm series hitch 2x2. I was wondering about the installation of this adapter on my new duramax truck. To be installed correctly does the adapter itself stick out past the receiver when pinned in? Or does it need to be flush? How is this adapter suppose to work?

The adapter, part # DTADP35, is like a sleeve. It slips over the ball mount or drawbar. Then you simply slide the ball mount, with this adapter sleeve around it, into your 2-1/2 inch hitch. You can put a piece of masking tape on the adapter to hold it in place on the ball mount to make sliding it into the hitch a bit easier.
