Question:
I bought the 90757 Hidden Hitch for my 2007 Forester. Im looking at buying a boat. How can I make sure it will carry the weight.

Expert Reply:
The Hidden Hitch # 90757, itself has a capacity of 3,500 pounds gross towing weight(GTW). That is the weight of the trailer and anything on the trailer including the boat. The tongue weight capacity for the hitch is 300 pounds, that is the downward force exerted on the ball mount. Additionally you need to check the owner manual of your Forester to see what weight Subaru says can safely be towed with your vehicle. You can only safely tow what ever the lowest rated component of your towing system can handle. The hitch you have is 1-1/4 inch receiver so you will be limited to small trailers. When you go to pick out a boat, let the dealer or seller know what your vehicle and hitch setup are capable of and they can help you figure out what can safely be towed.

What our customers are saying:
The hitch arrived by fedex much sooner than I expected. It installed with 5 bolts in less than 30 minutes, working alone. Very easy.
