Thank you for your prompt response but my dilema is do I need a converter in my 2008 Honda Fit. Or can I jst install the 4 pole connecter. Thank you for your time.

Expert Reply:

Yes, your 2008 Honda Fit will need a converter to install trailer wiring on the vehicle. The Honda Fit has turn signals separate from the brake lights and requires a converter to convert the cars 5 wire system down to the trailers 4 wire system. The converter is also circuit protected and protects your vehicles sensitive electrical system from damage if there is a short or mis-wire on a trailer you hook up. The correct wiring harness for your 2008 Honda Fit is part number 118420.

Simply splicing a normal 4-way connector to the vehicles lighting circuits will not work and can damage the vehicles electronics.
