I have 2003 chev 2500hd extended cab short bed and wanting to pull a 1998 jayco 32foot travel trailer. gvwr 9000 pounds. Which hitch should I use?

First you are going to need to know the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow and then add the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. If the bed is empty, and 9000 pounds is the loaded weight, then the tongue weight should be around 900 to 1350 pounds (10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight).
Based on these numbers an 800 to 1500 pound system like you have referenced, # RP66157, would be my top choice as well. You will just need to add a properly sized ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch or # C40041 for a 2-5/16 inch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
I have also included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control for you.
