I have a 2006 silverado ext. cab 2wd WT with a 4.8 v8. Can i use this model ? I wanted something more heavy duty then the units listed for my truck specs on your web page.

Yes you can use the Derale Tube and Fin Transmission Cooler # D13314, on your Chevy as long as there is enough room to install the cooler in front of your radiator for best efficiency, or in between the radiator and AC condenser, or behind the radiator for less efficiency.
The High Performance Class III Transmission Cooler, part # D13502, is a very good choice for your pickup also. Even though it is thinner and smaller it will cool almost as well as the larger tube and fin model.
For ease of installation I would recommend the Custom Fit Transmission Cooler Fitting, snap in, for your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 4.8 Liter, part # HH41418.
