i am converting from a 4 pin-flat connector, to the 7-pin will the electric brakes work on the trailer with this kit?

Yes, as long as your pickup does not have the factory Deep Drop Bumper, and has the factory 4-flat connector, this kit will upgrade your trailer wiring to the 7-way connector and the fuses and relays will activate the brake and accessory functions at the connector.
