Using a Continuous Ground Circuit to Correct Insufficient Ground Circuit on Pop-Up Camper

Question:

I just got a pop up camper and I am having trouble with the lights. I cleaned all the original grounds. My problem now is just the brake lights and turn signals. If I dont connect the ground on the tail light assembly everything works except the brakes. When the brakes are applied the tailights go out. If I attach this ground then all the lights flash when either blinker is turned on. Before I make any mistakes, can you help me start troubleshooting my problem? Thank you in advance.

It sounds as if there is still an insufficient ground connection. I would recommend using a different grounding point on the trailer, and instead of using the trailer body or frame itself as the ground, wire up a continuous ground circuit by running a wire from that grounding point to each lamp on the trailer, creating a foolproof ground circuit.
