Question:
Can I use the hold up on my 2012 wrangler and still have access to my back gate? Also, will it clear my rear wheel? Thanks

To determine if the Yakima Holdup 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Rack # Y02433, or any other hitch mounted bike rack, will clear your rear wheel once installed you will need to take one measurement.
You will need to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin on your hitch out to the furthest point out on the spare tire. Once you know this distance you will be able to know if the # Y02433 will work for you. This rack has a distance of 12 inches from the hitch pin hole to the first bike tray. So if that measurement you took is less than that this rack should work for you.
To determine if your gate will open you will need to measure from the center of your hitch up to the bottom of your back gate. The # Y02433 measures 12 inches from the center of the hitch pin to the nearest bottom portion of the bottom gate so if the distance you measured is less than 12 inches then you would be able to open your back gate as long as the wheel hoops were folded down.
