Hot lead for aux battery charging not getting power

Question:

06 durango - 7 pin wiring harness attached. Trailer is not receiving any charge for aux battery box lights and turn/brakes lights are fine. How do I determine if a hot lead needs to be added/hooked up?

The answer will depend on whether the 7-way connector is factory installed, or aftermarket. Have you checked that circuit with a circuit tester to see if it is putting out power? If the 7-way is factory installed, there will be a fuse that activates this circuit. The fuse is most likely located under the hood in a fuse block, see your owners manual for the specific fuse location. If the connector is aftermarket, and you are not getting power on it, you will have to trace the circuit back to the vehicle battery, looking for a fuse or circuit breaker. If the charge line was not installed at all, you would run a minimum 12 gauge wire to the positive battery terminal of the vehicle via a 40 amp circuit breaker, part number 9510.
