Question:
Ive got a 2003 tundra. How do I find out if I have the connection for a brake controller and where would those wires or plug connection be ? I thought the plug in would be to the left of the steering column but cant find it. Could it be behind the kick panel?

If your 2003 Toyota Tundra came with a factory 7-Way trailer connector then the harness for a brake controller should be present under the dash. The harness will be located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. There will be a 5-pin connector that mates with the
one on the adapter # 3040-P. It could be behind the kick panel like in the video I have linked.
If your truck did not come with a trailer connector the brake controller will have to be hardwired in by first adding a 4-Way connector, # 119176KIT, instructions linked, and a 4 and 7 way installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links to help with the ETBC7 installation.
