Question:
I have a 2010 f250 super duty pu short bed with the 6.4 diesel and I have a 18k signature series 5th wheel hitch w/slide about 3yrs old to be installed. What is the mounting bracket part # that I will need to install this hitch? Is this hitch a good choice for the vehicle and if so how hard is it to install this hitch? I am very mechanically incline and didnt know if this would be a simple task or something to take to someone who does it on a regular basis? Are there any other things needed or recomended? Thanks for your help

Expert Reply:
For your 2010 Ford F-250 short bed you will need to use the Reese Elite Series installation kit, # RP30073, for your sliding Signature Series 5th wheel hitch.
The Signature Series hitch when it was still in production (it has recently been replaced with the Elite Series) was the Reese top of the line and is an excellent hitch.
I believe that with the proper tools and a free afternoon on a weekend you should not have a problem installing the underbed installation kit and the hitch. I have included a link to the installation details and link to a video showing a typical installation for you.
If you look over the video and isntructions and have any doubts then I would take it to a professional for installation.
