Question:
I am a single woman camper, not much strength. I am having trouble getting the bar to slide in when hooking up and slide out when unhooking. I have a Reese 15K installed now. What would be the best hitch for my pickup and the easiest for me to get the bar to slide in and out? The one I have now is just to hard for me. From my search on the web it looks like a floating or pivoting head would be the best choice for me. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you are trying to actuate the slide bar while hitched on uneven ground, the pressure of the king pin against the slide bar can make it difficult to operate. A fifth wheel hitch with a 4 way pivoting head that uses a different method of securing the king pin other than the slide bar would make it easier to connect and disconnect your fifth wheel.
Curt offers a 5th wheel hitch that goes a step better than the 4-way pivot. If your truck has an 8 foot bed, the Curt Q20 5th wheel hitch, part # C16130 offers a 360 cushioned pivot that not only will make hitching and unhitching much easier for you, but will make towing a much more pleasant experience overall. For a 6-1/2 foot bed, you would need the sliding model, part # C16536.
The Curt fifth wheel hitches also has some other unique features, including zerk fittings that make lubricating the hitch very easy as well as a color coded indicator that will tell you if the hitch is correctly hitched at a glance from the comfort of the truck cab.
I believe the Curt hitch, either the standard or sliding model, is exactly what you are looking for.
Curt 5th wheel hitches are fully compatible with the Reese fifth wheel installation rails installed in your truck bed.
