Does the Softride Dura Bike Rack have enough Arm Spread to Carry a 29 inch Cruiser Bike

Question:

I have a 2011 Subaru Outback and Id like to purchase the Softride Element or Dura hitch bike rack, but I am concerned that the spread of the arms is not as large on the dura as the element. I have a large 29inch crusier, approx 20-25lb. with a 2inch top bar,all alumiun construction. With this bike I also plan to be carrying a 26inch Mountain bike for the wife. I read and understand the recommendation of using the extender tube with the Hidden Hitchinch I have installed on the Subaru along with the recommendation of going to the dura vs. the element. My question is will the arms on the Dura be spaced wide enough for the large frame crusier. Thank you,

The Softride Dura Parallelogram Tilting 4 Bike Rack # SR26247 that you referenced should have no problem carrying your 29 inch cruiser. The smaller distance between arms relative to other racks would not be an issue as this rack has been thoroughly tested to carry bikes and should work well for you.

If you plan on carrying womens bikes you may also be interested in purchasing a Softride Top Tube Bike Adapter Bar # SR26373 to provide a horizontal top tube for the rack to attach to easier.
