Question:
Hello, I am in the market for a roof rack system for my 2012 CRV. I do see this kit would fit my vehicle but is this system adjustable lengthwise along the roof rails, or do they mount to the same points on the roof rails that the factory cross bars would? If they do attach to the same points that the factory cross bars do, what advantage do this Thule system have over simply installing factory cross bars? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
Most likely the Thule roof rack will have the cross bars in the same location as the factory cross bars since the Thule Roof Rack System for your 2012 Honda CR-V utilizes the factory attachment points for installation.
However, there typically are advantages to going with an aftermarket. Usually aftermarket roof racks are much cheaper than a dealer installed rack, as well as being stronger and easier for roof top accessories to attach to.
If you went with the Thule Aero Blade roof rack system that consists of the following part numbers, # THARB47, # TH460R, # THKIT3118 you would have a roof rack that makes the least amount of noise of all the roof racks available currently.
