Recommended Weight Distribution System for 31 Foot Airstream Travel Trailer

Question:

Im a construction superintendent and live full time in my 2012 Airstream. I move from project to project with all my clothing, dishes and all daily living products in my truck or RV which last approximately 6 months in duration to the next jobsite. I want to purchase and install the safest and best towing distribution system with sway control available too me? Will this part # EQ90-00-1200 accomplish this mission for me or if not, please recomend the safest and Best System. Thank you.

If the tongue weight (TW) of your Airstream does not exceed the 1200 lb TW capacity of the Equal-i-zer # EQ90-00-1200 system, the system would be excellent for you. Be sure to include the weight of anything stowed in the truck bed behind the rear axle as tongue weight to determine if the TW of your Airstream does not exceed the system capacity.

Another choice would be the Reese Trunnion System with Dual-Cam Sway Control, part # RP66084. We have been selling the Reese system for years, and it is a great performer, but we hear from folks who have tried both that the system is less complicated and works better. I would personally lean toward the Equal-i-zer system because it is a bit less expensive and less complicated with fewer moving parts.

The Equal-i-zer system does not include a hitch ball. For a 2-5/16 ball, use part # EQ91-00-6120. For a 2-5/16 inch ball for the Reese system, use part # 19286.
