Converting 4-Pole on 2005 Chrysler Town and Country to a 7-Way Trailer Connector

Question:

I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country w/ Stow n Go. I want to wire it using the Draw-Tite 118300 T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. However, the T-One only comes with a 4-flat included and I would also like a 7-way. The web page for the T-One says it supports 7-way. 1. Do I need to also order something like the Hopkins HM40975 Endurance or the Pollak HM40975 connector to get the 7-way? 2. How is the 7-way attached to the T-One? Thanks!

Your best bet for an easy install would be to use the 4-pole to 7-way adapter, part # 37185. The adapter will plug directly into the 4-pole supplied by your T-One connector, leaving 4 remaining wires. The white wire would be grounded to the vehicle frame, the purple wire would tap into the reverse lamp circuit (if needed), the black wire which supplies a 12-volt accessory power circuit to the trailer if needed is ran to the battery and the blue wire carries the output voltage from a brake controller. The # 37185 will provide a 4-pole as well as a 7-way connector.

If you were installing a brake controller, you would be better off going with our Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The ETBC7 kit contains everything needed to install a controller, including the # 37185 mentioned above. If you do not yet have a brake controller, I can highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885.

The videos shows the kit being installed on a 2008 Grand Caravan, but the procedure for your Town and Country would be identical.
