Question:
I have a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe that has a hitch and harness installed. When connected to the small trailer, all the lights work except the right brake light and the right turn signal lite. Ive checked the light bulbs and they are OK I conntcted the SUV to another trailer and the same problem exists. Can you give me some idea on what the problem is? Also, I havent a clue on how to remove the panels. Do I need to remove both inside panels or just one side? Thanks!

It sounds as if your taillight converter might be bad. I will give you a link to the wiring harness installation instructions, which shows how to remove the trim panels. To test the conveter box, you will have to remove the trim panel on the drivers side. Trace the wiring from the 4 way connector to find the black converter box. Using a circuit tester, test the green wire going into the the converter box. If you get a signal on this wire entering the box, but not on the green wire exiting the box, the converter is bad and must be replaced.
