Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

Question:

Will Firestone F2528 fit 2012 Silverado 2500 HD with fifth wheel hitch mount?. I have already installed the custom frame mount for a 5th Wheel hitch. It appears that the Air Lift model will not fit BUT the Firestone looks like it might.The Air Lift model has U-bolts the go over the top of the frame. From the instructions, it appears that the U-bolts will hit the custom frame mount for the hitch. The Firestone model has no over the frame U-bolts. Your video of the F2528 install on a GMC appreas that the upper mount, on the drivers side, can be mounted in either direction. The written instructions, which show the passenger side, Show the upper mount with the upper extension of the mount, going on the inside of the frame. Mounting this way would miss the custom fifth wheel frame mount. Are my assumptions correct?

Take a look at the video I have linked showing a typical installation of Firestone kit # F2528. You will see that the brackets have parts that fit on the inside, outside, and bottom of the frame rails. If you are using custom fit 5th wheel brackets on the frame, they would block at least part of where the Firestone bracket needs to install. If you are using universal 5th wheel brackets, it is possible that the Firestone kit will fit.

A better solution would be to go with a Timbren system, see link, because they do not have brackets that will interfere with 5th wheel installation kit brackets. Take a look at # TGMRCK25D. These are rated for HD models only and have a capacity of 14,000 pounds. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
