To determine if the Yakima Big Horn # Y02404 will fit your Ford Explorer you will need to take one important measurement. You will need to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin out to the furthest point out of the rear of your vehicle.

The # Y02404 measures 11-1/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin out to the nearest upright bar, so if the distance you measure on your vehicle is less than that this rack will work for you.

If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the Bike Adapter Bar, # Y02531, in order to carry the bikes more level on the rack. I have included a link to a video showing how the adapter works.
