Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2012 Ford Focus Hatchback

I have the 2012 Ford Focus Hatchback and just cant visualize the th9003 on my car. The ratcheting cables scare me, but I love how the th9003 holds the bikes. The fit guide says it will work, but will the weight effect the spoiler part coming down from the roof?

I do have a solution for carrying bikes on your Focus but if the vehicle has a spoiler then it is a no fit situation because the rack cannot be safely installed on the vehicle. The ratcheting cables are actually much more secure and easier to use than straps. The combined weight the # TH9003 and 2 average weight bicycles could also cause bumper deformation.

The safest way to carry bikes on your 2012 Ford Focus is to install a trailer hitch and use a hitch mount bike rack. For a trailer hitch the most popular option is Draw-Tite hitch # 24872 (does not fit models with center exhaust). This is a Class I trailer hitch so you will need a Class I compatible bike rack.
