Recommended 2 or 4 Bike Platform Type Rack for 2011 Chevy Equinox

I am having difficulty deciding which bike rack is best for me. I had looked at the Thelma Saris 3, but after reading reviews decided to check into the Swagmans and Thules. I just ordered a hitch from etrailers so I could install the bike rack. I was so impressed with the service I would like to order my bike rack from here as well. I am looking for a 2 or 3 bike platform carrier. I have a 2011 Chevy Equinox. I need a bike rack that will fit a standard mountain bike or road bike, and also a 29er. I am trying to find the most affordable, best option. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.

For a two bike platform rack that is compatible with your Curt Class III Receiver, I can highly recommend the Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670. The XTC is an upgrade of the XC model you referenced, it has stronger wheel hoops with straps to secure your bike wheels. The XTC2 can also handle bikes with wheel bases up to 66 inches, while the XC is limited to 51-1/2 inches.

Either rack would include an anti-rattle hitch bolt, but I recommend using a locking hitch bolt and cable lock combo, part # S64031 to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to the vehicle. Of all our platform style racks, the XTC2 offers a good balance of features for the price.

We do not offer a platform rack with a 3 bike capacity, but Swagman makes a 4 bike XTC model, part # S64665 that offers the same benefits a the XTC2 in a larger capacity.
