II have 2 questions. First, Ive read that I may have to modify, cut a piece, my Rav4 in order to use this rack. Is this true? Second, my wifes bike is a Specialized Elite womans bike. Do I need to use a frame extender with this bike?

The Thule Spare Me bike rack, # TH963PRO is a fit for the 2009 Toyota RAV4. You will not have to modify or cut any part of the vehicle for the bike rack to fit. I have included a link to the instructions.
For womens or alternative style bike frames, you will need to use the bike adapter bar, # TH982XT, to load the bikes on the rack. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
