Question:
My general utility trailer is equiped with 5 wires. I need to replace the plug as one of my cows decided the plug was a good chew toy. The replacement plug spots for wires. What goes where? Thanks...

For a replacement 5-way for your utility trailer I would recommend you get a Hopkins 5-way part # HM47910. To wire this in you will want get a circuit tester like our part # 3808 and test the functions of your vehicle 5-way like the video I attached and then wire the trailer 5-way by function accordingly.
Typically on a 5-way the jacketed pole will be the ground, the circuit next to that will be brown and will be the tail lights, the yellow wire next to that will be the left turn/stop signal, the green wire will be the right turn/stop signal and the blue wire next to that will be the reverse light signal for a reverse lockout.
The colors may not match, but if you trace the wires back or put voltage on the circuits you should be able to find out which wire goes where.
Check out the FAQ article I attached also for you to check out.
