Using a Thule Cargo Box with a Roof Mounted Cargo Basket

Question:

Hi, I asked you a question about hitch carriers which we are going to get one... Waiting on your suggestion. We are also thinking about getting a roof mounted cargo basket but have a couple questions. We have an 2006 LR3 with factory luggage rack. We have a Thule cargo box that we can attach to the luggage rack. Would we be able to use that Thule cargo box with a cargo basket? the top of our car is all windows & we would love to be able to have a cargo basket on the top but also would like to utilize the thule cargo box. We are looking at the Rola roof basket. Thanks again for your help.

What you are wanting to do is possible, but not with the Rola Roof Basket, part number 59504. The Thule Cargo Box you have would be too long to fit inside the basket, making it impossible to fasten. I'd recommend the Thule M.O.A.B. Roof Top Cargo Carrier, part number TH690. This basket has adjustable load bars that would provide mounting points that would allow your Cargo Box to sit on top of the basket.
