Question:
How far below the rear spoiler on a 2006 Matrix XR does this hitch extend, or maybe I should ask what the ground clearance is? Thank you.

We have not yet had the opportunity to install Hidden Hitch trailer hitch # 60965 on a 2006 Toyota Matrix XR. What I did was a measured the hitch from the top of the mounting bracket to the bottom of the receiver. This measurement is 7-1/2 inches.
If you measure the mounting location on the vehicle using the instructions I have linked for you and measure from there down 7-1/2 inches, and then from that point to the ground. That will give you the ground clearance.
If you plan on doing some towing, the hitch comes with the correct ball mount, pin and clip. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. Fir trailer wiring use # 118386. I have included a link to the wiring instructions as well.
