Will Thule Quick Grip Mounts Fit in the Thule Evolution 2100 Cargo Box

Question:

Hi, I have a Thule Evolution 2100 I purchased back in 2005. It has the U-bolt fasteneing system to attach to the roof rack. Is it possible to remove the U-Bolt locking mechanism and replace it with the the new Quick Grip claw type attachment I see on the newer models?

If you are willing to make modifications to your Evolution cargo box, you could use the Quick Grip mounts, # TH05738. You would also need the proper cradles, # TH05729. There is no kit available to retro fit older boxes with these mounts. It would require some at home work to modify the box to accept the mounts.

If you need replacement hardware we do have the Easy Snap in a kit, # TH05820 which will fit the Evolution without modification.
