Question:
Chevy 2011 3500 HD Dually. Can you compare ground clearances to the bottom of the receiver for the Draw-tite 65056 vs the Curt C31023? Also, the Draw-tite has a rating of 500 lb vert pull vs 350 lb for the Curt. If Im planning on using a scooter carrier in the hitch that may weigh close to 350 lb total, would it be best to go with the Draw tite for added strength?

I spoke with my contact at Curt about front receiver # C31023. When the hitch is installed it measures 7-1/2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the receiver. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this hitch for you.
The Draw-Tite hitch, # 65056, will require that you do some measuring. You will need to look at the directions, linked for you, and find the mounting locations for the hitch on your truck. Find the mounting holes that are the furthest forward on the vehicle. From the center of these locations, measure down 3-3/4 inches. This is where the bottom of the receiver will be. You can then measure from that point to the ground to get the ground clearance measurement.
I would go with the higher rated Draw-Tite hitch for your application. You need to make sure that the combined weight of the carrier and the load on it does not exceed hitch capacity or the front axle capacity, whichever is lower.
