Question:
Tow vehicle is a 2007 Ford F-150: Small V-8, Rear wheel drive, long bed, factory towing package. New RV is a Starcraft 16foot AR-One, single axel, 3,000#GTW, @265# TW. What weight dsn/anti-sway setup would you recommend?

Expert Reply:
When calculating the tongue weight, you also have to factor in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle to the trailer tongue weight.
For a trailer with a 265 pound tongue weight, going with a system rated for 200 to 600 pounds, like # RP66151 that you referenced, would work out well. You would just need to add a ball to match the coupler on the trailer. Use # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch.
I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control for you.
