Question:
Can I fit a Thule Hullivator on my 2011 Outback with the foldaway crossbars if I use a Thule rack as base? The Thule fit site does not show the current roof rack with the folding bars.

Based on what I could find, the Thule Hullavator, # TH897XT, will not fit the factory crossbars on the 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon.
From what i have found you can remove the crossbars when they are in the side to side position. Then, you can install Yakima LandingPad 12, # Y00236, Control Towers, # Y00214, and crossbars, # Y00408. The LandingPads fit in the holes left by the factory crossbars. The Control towers mount in these LandingPads and hold the crossbars.
This will give you a crossbar spread of 30 inches center to center. You could then install the Hullavator. I have included a link to a video review of the Hullavator for you.
