Question:
I have a 2012 gmc Terrain. I need a class III hitch and would like to know if model #13591 curtis hitch and the model #87572 hidden hitch are a visible as each other? I would also like to know if I can replace the center fascia of the bumper to cover the hitch when not towing? Looking forward to your response.

All of the Class III receivers available for your 2012 Terrain are similar in the way they would sit in relation to the rear bumper of the vehicle. The primary difference between the Curt # 13591, the Hidden Hitch # 87572 and the Draw-Tite # 75681 is that the Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite models use two additional connection points into the bottom of the frame member. Although all three hitches share the same weight rating, having extra connection points to the vehicle frame is desirable.
I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III receiver, part # 75681. I have provided a photo that shows what the hitch would look like once installed. As you can see in the photo, the receiver extends far enough through the bumper fascia that the fascia door would not be able to be installed when not towing.
In addition to the hitch, you might also need the following:
Trailer wiring harness, part # 118494 or # 118264 if your Terrain is equipped with the tow package
Ball mount, part # 2923
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260
2 inch trailer ball, part # 19247
Hitch pin and clip, part # PC3
Locking hitch pin, part # 40107
I have linked you to some installation details and install videos that you might find helpful.
