Question:
Will bulb/alarm 3156 operate as intended on a 2001 Dodge Minivan using back-up bulb 3157A? Thanks

Expert Reply:
A 3156 and 3157 bulb will fit in the same slot on a vehicle. The difference is a 3157 bulb has a dual intensity feature and 3156 does not. Since the Hopkins Backup Alert, # HM20101VA, is for a reverse light, a dual intensity bulb is not needed and you can use it in place of a 3157 and it will operate as intended.
