Can this be used on a boat trailer? If not, which electric brake would you recommend? Thanks.

Actually, i would not recommend an electric brake assembly for a boat trailer because the finish on them is not the best for marine applications and you could run into short problems if the wiring is not sealed out from the water.
It is done sometimes it just not recommended and I would use hydraulic disc brakes. I would need to know the wheel size you have, the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the metal of the bearings, and the axle capacity.
If the trailer is set up for electric brakes this assembly would fit on a 6k axle and 5-bolt mounting flange. There are several parts you will need to add brakes to a trailer. I have included a link to our FAQ article that covers everything you will need.
