Thule 5 Bike Vertex Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying 3 Adult and 2 Children Bikes

Question:

We have a 2010 Buick Enclave and need to transport 2 adults and 3 kids bikes, kids are 9-11 years old. Would you recommend one of the Thule, Yakima or Swagman models? I would prefer not to have to replace the rack in a few yrs when the kids are in adult bikes, but will if that is what is necessary. Thanks!

The Thule Vertex 5 Bike Rack # TH9030 that you referenced would make an excellent choice for you to carry your 5 bikes. This rack has arcing arms that allow for faster and easier loading, more space between the bikes and puts them at different heights allowing the pedals and handlebars to be at different heights which will reduce contact between the bikes. For childrens bikes we recommend you use a Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT. This will provide a horizontal top tube on the bike that will be wider than the frame of your childrens bikes allowing for the bike to be installed on the bike rack. Check out the review video I attached for this product also. If you used this product you could use the # TH9030 for carrying your adult and childrens bikes and also when your kids outgrow their bikes and move up to larger frame bikes.
