Question:
Today I tried to have a trailer brake controller installed at a local Camping world and the tech could not find the trailer brake controller connecot. I have the 7 pin factory connector works for lights and signals. I have looked and looked and cannot find it either. Any pictures or additional help would be great. Thanks,

If your 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser has the factory 7-Way trailer connector, the brake controller connector will be located under the dash and left of the steering column. It will be taped to another wiring harness near the emergency brake pedal. There will be a 5-pin connector that mates with the one on the Tekonsha Wiring Adapter, part # 3040-P.
It might also be tucked up behind some other wiring harnesses behind the drivers side kick panel. If that is the case you will need to remove that kick panel to access the connector.
Make sure to also attach the extra white ground wire on the # 3040-P adapter to a nearby piece of bare metal. Otherwise the brake controller will not function properly.
I am including a link to a video of the # 3040-P wiring adapter being installed on a 2008 Toyota Sequoia (similar vehicle) and it will show where the brake controller connector is located. On this vehicle it happened to be behind the drivers kick panel.
