Adapting a Gooseneck Trailer Hitch to Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500

Question:

I have a Draw Tite #50112 under bed goose neck installed on my 2006 Chevy 3500 crew cab dualie. Will the 9480 fit properly?

Expert Reply:

I do have a solution for you but the Hi-Rise # 9480 will not work with the Draw-Tite gooseneck hitch you have. I verified this with my contact at Draw-Tite. What I recommend is the Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel connection, # AM3225.

This unit attaches to the gooseneck ball in the truck and has a special adapter to fit on the 5th wheel trailer king pin so that it can attach to the ball on top of the unit. I have included a link to a video review and a link to an FAQ article that features this adapter for you to view.
