How Does the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap Work with the Thule T2 Platform Bike Rack

Hello. I have a curt class 1 hitch that I purchased off a friend. It recommends that I need this strap whenever using a hitch mounted bike rack. I have the thule t2 2 bike platform style rack and wondering how this strap would be attached on the rack since it doesnt have any upward pole

To use the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap, # 18050, with a bike you would normally attach the # 18050 support strap at the trunk lip near the back glass on the vehicle. With the Thule T2 bike rack, # TH917XTR, you would need to find a place to attach the hook on the end of the support strap so that the strap and buckle do not contact the vehicle.

One option I have come up with is to use a Quick Loop Tie-Down, # TH530, along with a continuous loop strap like part # 753-2030-03. You can loop the continuous loop strap through the quick loop tie down once it is installed in the trunk lip, then loop the strap around a point on the bike rack that will not cut or fray the strap and tighten it for support.
