Red LED on Energize III Brake Controller # 81741B Lit When Brake Applied and No Trailer Connected

Question:

Withouth the camper attached in any way at all, the red indicator light still comes on everytime the brakes are applied. Should this be happening with this controller?

I went out to our warehouse and pulled one of the Energize III controllers off of the shelf and bench tested it.

I found that with no trailer connected, the red light on the controller will indeed light up when the vehicle brakes are applied. Your controller is not malfunctioning and is good to go.
