Tekonsha Wire Replacement and Brake Controller for a 2004 Chevy Express Van

Question:

I have a 2004 Chev Express van. Will the Tekonsha 3015-P harness work on my vehicle and a Primus controller?

The brake controller you have selected will work with your van but the wire harness connection is not present on your 2004 Chevy Express. You will need to hard wire your brake controller to the vehicle to use any brake controller. If your vehicle has the factory 7 way connector you will need to look under the dash near the emergency brake pedal for the blue wire that sends the signal to the trailer brakes. This blue wire would be connected to the blue output on the brake controller. If you do not have the 7 way factory tow package then you will have to do some additional wiring which we have outlined on our "Brake Controller Installation From Scratch" page (see link below). I have posted parts links below to the items you may or may not need, depending on how your truck is wired now, to complete the wiring of your vehicle for towing a trailer with electric brakes. There are two different 4 way connectors listed and either will work but the powered #39528 will protect your vehicle's wiring and electronics if a short or some other failure occurs. If you need further assistance please let me know, we are here to help.
