Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2008 Honda CR-V with Rear Spoiler

Can the Rhode Gear Super Shuttle 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount be used with the spoiler option on a 2008 Honda CRV? If not can you recommend a 3 bike trunk rack for a CRV with a spoiler?

I do have a solution for carrying bikes on your CR-V, but a trunk mount rack is not going to work. The rear spoiler on the 2008 Honda CR-V is going to be a concern. The straps for a trunk mount bike rack would end up putting stress on the spoiler that the spoiler cannot handle and so a trunk mount bike rack cannot be used.

Even without a spoiler, the bike racks that would fit require glass hatch adapters and you would be limited to just 2 bikes even on 3 bike model bike racks.

To carry 3 bikes, you will need to install a trailer hitch, like # 87440, and use a hitch mount bike rack. I recommend the Swagman Titan, # S63405. This is a 3 bike rack, it can tilt away from the vehicle, and it has an integrated cable lock. A hitch also has other benefits such as towing and other accessories like cargo carriers.

If you will be carrying womens, childrens, and alternative frame bikes, I recommend using a bike adapter bar like # 64005 for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level.
