Question:
I have a 1988 Iroc-Z with 1992 slp dual cat convertors with a 2.50 Y. All the shops are trying to sell me a 2.25 and I tell them No. They insist on going by a book. And not the Carb Eo numbers for the Headers and Y pipe. Can I install MF36019 3inch dual convertors in my Camaro? They come with a stamp is that correct? If I can get a place to customize the outlet two into 1 3inch catback Id like to do so. Or is there a 2.50 Ca Carb aproved cat I can just replace? Whats the model number. And how do I get these people to understand the car has a 2.50 Y Im not putting a 2.25 convertor on my car. Will a 3inch dual 36019 fit under my car? So a few questions I need. I have to make a 50 mile trip to talk with an expert tonight about getting the job done the way I want it an way Smog wont faint with me not using a 2.25 convertor.

I checked with my contact at MagnaFlow for catalytic converter options for your 1988 Camaro Iroc-Z. He stated that due to the EPA and CARB regulations in California we cannot recommend that you install a catalytic converter that is different from the 2.25 converter that comes on your vehicle.
Modifying your exhaust system would not comply with the laws in California, which is why the shops are trying to sell you the 2.25 converter. They cannot sell a product for a vehicle that does not comply with the regulations in California without possible consequences.
