Installation of Brake Controller on 2008 F-150 4x4

Question:

I have a 2008 F150 4x4 Crew cab, with the XTR package. It comes with the trailer hitch installed, along with the 4 way and 7 way outlets mounted on the truck. It also comes with the wiring harness and relay for the brake controller. I was planning on taking this to a trailer company to install the brake controller which I have not purchased yet. They want $160.00 CDN to install this, but it seems very simple to me. Can you advise on installing this with the current set up I have.

Install couldn't be simpler. The connector to plug the wiring harness for the controller is located behind the storage tray in the dash located under the climate control system. Remove the storage tray, and the connector should be clipped to the back of it. The harness would wire up to the controller as follows: The pink wire on the harness would connect to the black brake controller wire, the red harness wire connects to the red controller wire, the white wires connect together, and the blue wires would connect together. The brown wire is for an illumination circuit, and is not needed. Tape it off, and tuck it up out of the way. We have an installation video that I will give you a link to, you can find the link below.
