How to Install the Putco Designer FX Grille Insert on a 2007 GMC Yukon

Question:

I like the look of the replacement grille for my 2007 yukon. How do you remove the OEM grill in order to install the replacement? I bolts seem easy enough to remove but there appears to be little plastic retainer clips all around the grille that hold it to the bumper cover - do i need to take the whole front end off or is there a special tool I can use?

Expert Reply:

The Putco Designer FX Grille Insert, # P64359, that you referenced does not require you to remove the existing grille on your 2007 GMC Yukon, but simply installs on top of your existing grille. The Designer FX Grille has studs on the back that pass through your existing grille and use small plates and wing nuts to tighten to your grille.

The center of this grille insert is punched out to allow the GMC logo from your factory grille to show through. You will not need to remove any part of your existing grille or use any specific tools to install the grille insert. This grille insert will come with all necessary hardware for installation.
