Hi, before I order this from you guys, would you please confirm that this bike rack is definitely ok to fit on a 2008 VW Passat WAGON? If not, can you recommend another 3-bike trunk carrier for the type of car we have?

Yes, I can confirm that the Thule Archway 3, # TH9010, is a fit for the 2008 Volkswagen Passat wagon. I checked 4 different versions of the Thule fit guide and they all state that the rack will fit. I have included a link to the installation details for this rack for you.
If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes I recommend using the bike adapter bar # TH982XT for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
