Have 2007 Dodge Caravan. Present back up light is a 3057. Will your 3156 item work here OK without confusing the computer?

On the back up light in your 2007 Dodge Caravan, is it a 3157 bulb? If so, the Hopkins Backup Alert, # HM20101VA, will fit in the same slot. The difference between a 3156 and 3157 is that a 3157 has a dual-intensity feature. The back up light does not need a dual-intensity feature. Installing this unit in place of a bulb should have no effect on the computer.
