I just bought a Ford Edge with a 1 1/4 receiver. I have a bike rack with a 2 receiver. If I use the adapter 80303 what will be the weight capacity be?? I have carried 4 bikes previouslycan this still be done. Thanks.

Your hitch should have it's tongue weight capacity listed on in, probably on a sticker. This tongue weight capacity represents the amount of weight that can safely be suspended from the hitch. I'm guessing this capacity is somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 lbs. Using the adapter will cut the amount of weight your hitch can carry by 50 percent. In this example, the tongue weight would be cut to 150 lbs. This would mean that the bike carrier, and the bikes carried on i could weigh no more than 150 lbs.
