Roof Rack Cross Bars and Cargo Bag Recommendation for a 2005 Pontiac Montana with Factory Side Rails

I wanted to know if these would attach securely to our 2005 Pontiac Montana with the factory-installed round side rails. We will be making a number of road trips with extended time on freeways, so we wanted to make sure they would install, and install securely, so we can put a cargo bad on top of our van. Thanks!

Yes, the Yakima RailGrab Towers, # Y00138, are designed to fit your 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 with factory installed raised rails that run front to back. I have had the opportunity to install these towers and Yakima CrossBars, # Y00408, several times and they are very secure. I attached a video installation for you to review.

For a cargo bag, I recommend using the BasketCase Cargo Carrier, # Y07012, along with the GetOut Pro Weather-Resistant Rooftop Cargo Bag, # Y07188. The basket will keep the bag off of your roof, eliminating the possibility of damage, and it will also allow the bottom of the bag to stay dry because it will not trap water between the bag and vehicle roof.

For much better protection for your vehicle and cargo, you could go with the SportRack Aero XL Cargo Box, # A90275, which works great with the Yakima CrossBars.
