In order to determine if the SportRack 3 Bike Carrier Spare Tire Mount Bike Rack, part # A30813STL will fit your 2007 Jeep Liberty you will need to take a measurement of your spare tire.

You will need to measure from the rear face of the spare tire (facing the vehicle) rearward until the furthest rearward portion of the spare tire is cleared. If this distance is less than 4-1/4 inches, and the center hole of your spare tire is 2 inches or more in diameter, the # A30813STL will work for you.

If the spare on your Liberty does not offer enough clearance, the differing length shanks included with the Yakima SpareTime 2 bike trunk mounted bike rack, part # Y02598 will fit vehicles with spare tires up to 12-1/2 inches thick. The arms of the rack can be adjusted in an offset position for vehicles with the off-center spare tire.

Both racks are simple to install. The process involves removing the spare tire, placing the adapter plate on the spare tire mount, and replacing the tire. The shank from the adapter plate extends through the center hole in the spare tire, and provides an attachment point for the rack itself. When the rack is not needed, the rack portion can simply be removed, leaving he adapter plate in place.

For womens bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # Y02531 is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
